Always Remember:

  1. kissing can and will, get boring.
  2. its ok to go to sleep on opposite sides.
  3. forgetting favorites, dates and replies is only human.
  4. you dont have to like, or be friends with all of their friends and vice-versa.
  5. they have a right to spend weekends dedicating to their friends and family. you have the same right.
  6. privacy is still in play.
  7. trying simple things that they like, no matter how much you are sure you will dislike it, is a very small step you can take to show your love to them.
  8. you dont gotta have the same taste in music, food, books etc.
  9. saying i love you, thank you, take care, please and i missed you really helps.
  10. you cant agree with all their life decisions and they cant with yours. keeping an open mind and having an honest and deep discussion about it helps.
  11. they dont need your permission to do things and neither you need theirs.
  12. the intention and care behind the gift matters. not its price tag.
  13. dont try and change them. help them become better versions of themselves and get the same help and support and care from them.
  14. know what matters most and focus on that.

unexplained-events:

Early baby incubators were not only a new treatment for premature babies, and other babies that needed special care. They were also something of a sideshow attraction, starting at the Berlin Exposition in 1896 and finally settling in Coney Island in 1903. The incubators were some of the only forms of treatment for these babies in need; hospitals at the time didn’t have anything to help them. Martin Couney, who was responsible for these incubators, used the funds from the tourism to help fund the operation, as well as paying for the babies care and for full time nurses. He also did not charge the parents of the children being treated. Couney saved over 6,000 premature children over the duration of his sideshow attraction.

I want mental health to be so normalised that little children can tell their parents if they’re feeling mentally ill just like they would if they had a stomach ache or a fever.

I want mental health to be so normalised that school lets you go home after a panic attack episode like they do if you sustain an injury.

I want mental health to be so normalised that when someone’s in recovery the people around them ask for progress reports and send get well soon cards just like they would for any other sort of recovery.

I want mental health to be normalised because every mental health disorder is just as frightening, just as damaging as a life threatening injury and we pass people by every day who are so unwell in this sense but who don’t receive a fraction of the care they deserve just because mental health is unseen.

i’d hate to be a high schooler in this day and age. i see young ass girls on youtube doing “grwm freshman year” full beat 28 inch wigs and its like……. when i was in high school you’d be lucky if we didnt show up in our pajamas. maybe a lil mascara here n there. idk i just feel bad that there’s so much sexual pressure on these younger girls because of social media

I dont even feel bad because its all a choice tbh

im not gonna jump on you for this response because you’re only 19 but you saying that young girls being forced to conform to societal standards is a “choice” aint it chief. nobody chooses to be negatively impacted by sexism and the male gaze it just kind of happens. it’s insidious. and definitely not by choice
